Conculsion
I have an old shuttle case that I used as a webserver, when you compare the to together, the Shuttle looks small!

[SG01 looks massive!]

As a desktop case, or a htpc the SG01 fits both roles - and has a very professional look. The case is made from aluminium, which ias a good conductor of heat, so don't be surprised if the case get warm! The case is bigger than your normal Shuttle case simply beacuse it is able to take a full sized PSU.

To me this is a benefit as you don't have to hunt around for a case specific PSU. Rather you can you an existing PSU from another case. Installation is simple as the case has a good amount of spcae to install everything, and not look cluttered.

Cable management is something that is alwasys tricky with SFF cases, but with a little tidying this can be reduced - wiht the case you can remove unwanted front panel cables and there is a little space to hide calbes away.

My only real concern is that clearance from the cpu cooler and psu. If you reverse the cpu cool fan, you will effectively be venting the hat into the psu and out the back of the case. Things did get a little tight when installing a normal psu and CD/ DVD rom. Whilst there was not much room, there was enough room to plug everything.

Pros

  • Will take full sized PSU
  • Build quality is excellent
  • Lots of avilable extras, including cooling options

Cons

  • Clearance between cpu cooler and psu might be a problem.
